Design your storefront
Use the theme editor to arrange sections, set your fonts and colours, and preview your store on desktop and mobile before you publish.
Updated 7 October 2026
Your storefront’s look is set by its theme: the sections on each page and the settings that apply everywhere, like fonts and colours. You change it in the theme editor, and your customers see nothing until you publish.
You need to be a shop owner or admin to edit the theme.
Open the editor
In the merchant portal, open Settings → Theme and open the theme editor. It fills the screen, with your sections on one side and a live preview of your store on the other.
Arrange your sections
Pages are built from sections. The available types are:
- Hero banner: a large image with a headline and a button.
- Featured products: a row of products you pick.
- Featured collection: products from one of your collections.
- Rich text: a block of formatted text.
- Image with text: a picture beside a short story.
- Slideshow: several banners that rotate.
- Video: an embedded video.
- Collapsible content: questions and answers, or any fold-out text.
- Custom HTML: your own markup, for anything the other sections don’t cover.
Drag sections to reorder them, add new ones, or remove the ones you don’t need. Click a section to change its settings, such as its text, images and layout.
Set the look
The global settings apply to the whole store, such as fonts and colours. Change them once and every page follows.
Preview, then publish
Switch the preview between desktop and mobile to check both. Your changes are kept as a draft while you work. When you’re happy, publish, and your customers see the new design.
Good to know
- Images come from your shop’s assets. Upload a picture once and use it anywhere: in the theme, on products and in collections.
