Delivery routes turn a pile of orders into a drive. You pick the orders, Anantak Track works out a good order for the stops, and when you publish, each customer gets a link to follow their delivery.
You need permission to manage deliveries; owners, admins and managers have it. Drivers are members of your team with the driver permission, which staff accounts have by default.
1. Start a route
There are two ways in:
- In the merchant portal, open Delivery and create a new route. Choose the pickup location, the driver and the planned date, and give it a name.
- Or, on the Orders page, select the orders you want to deliver and click Plan delivery. A new route opens with those orders already on it.
2. Add the orders
Use Add orders to pick more. You can filter by order status and by distance from the pickup. Orders without a location pin can’t be added, and POS sales aren’t listed.
3. Put the stops in order
- Optimize stops reorders the stops for the shortest drive and draws the route on the map.
- Route keeps your order and just draws the route.
You can also drag stops into any order you like. Hover over a stop to see its leg of the journey highlighted on the map.
4. Publish
Every order on the route must be fulfilled, packed and ready, before you can publish. If some aren’t, the editor tells you how many and links to them.
When you publish:
- every order on the route becomes Out for delivery;
- each customer gets an email with a tracking link, plus a text message if you have their phone number;
- the route goes to your driver in the Anantak Track app.
What your customers see
The tracking link shows their order and how many stops are ahead of theirs. The driver’s position appears only while the driver is heading to that customer, never on the way to anyone else. Tracking links work for 30 days.
Good to know
- While an order is on a route, its page shows an On route badge that links back to the route.
- Orders picked from more than one location are marked Multi-pickup and listed last.
