Connect your own domain

Every shop gets a free address on anantak.co the day it opens. When you’re ready to use your own name, you can point a domain you own at your storefront. The security certificate is issued for you, so the address works over https:// with nothing to install.

You need to be a shop owner or admin to manage domains.

Before you start

• Buy the domain from any registrar, and make sure you can edit its DNS records.
• Decide which address to use. A subdomain such as shop.yourbrand.com is the simplest to set up.
• You can’t add an address on anantak.co itself: your shop already has one.

1. Add the domain

1. In the merchant portal, open Settings → Custom domains.
2. Type the domain, for example shop.yourbrand.com, and click Add domain.

The domain appears in the list as Pending, with the DNS records you need to add underneath.

2. Add the DNS records

At your domain provider, add the records listed under Add these DNS records at your provider:

• CNAME: points your domain at your storefront.
• TXT (ownership): proves the domain is yours.
• TXT (SSL): lets the certificate be issued.

Copy each name and value exactly as shown. DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to reach everyone.

3. Check the status

Back in Settings → Custom domains, click Refresh. The status moves from Awaiting DNS to Provisioning while the certificate is issued, then to Active. The page also checks again each time you open it.

If it still says Awaiting DNS, check the records at your provider and refresh again later. If it says Failed, remove the domain and add it again.

4. Make it your main address

Once a domain is Active, click Set as primary. Links to your shop, such as the ones in order emails, then use it.

If you later remove your primary domain, your shop goes back to its free anantak.co address automatically.

Good to know

• A domain can only be connected to one shop.
• Only an active domain can be set as primary.
